    The Bureau has an extensive property portfolio located throughout the Australian mainland and adjacent islands comprising 34 staffed offices, 62 weather surveillance radar sites and approximately 700 automatic weather station sites. The Property Services function is responsible for the delivery of facilities management and leasing services, together with the provision of strategic property advice ensuring that our facilities support the Bureau's activities and outcomes.

    The Project Manager, reporting directly to the Head of Property Services, will be responsible for the planning and delivery of the Property Services Capital Works Programme. The role will require consultation with stakeholders to establish project requirements, development of scope of work briefs ensuring alignment with Bureau's design principles, engagement and management of design and construction contractors, chairing of user Working and Project Control Groups, complete reports for and present projects to the Major Transactions Committee for approval, work to strict budget and time constraints and engage with building owners and external authorities as necessary.

    The Project Manager will also have responsibility for the oversight of the Property Services Minor Capital Works Programme. Working with the respective Regional Managers, the Project Manager will provide advice and guidance on scope, budget, project management and delivery.

    The successful applicant will possess the following attributes.

    1. Extensive experience in project management.
    2. Excellent leadership, interpersonal, communication and team management skills including the ability to manage projects remotely.
    3. A thorough understanding of the relevant laws and statutory requirements relating to the built environment.
    4. Advanced contract management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
    5. A proven ability to plan, prioritise and deliver.
    6. The ability to operate with a strategic focus.
